    ★☆☆☆☆

My wife visited Dr. Asif Akbar Saibal because she was experiencing several ongoing health problems, including constipation, a fever that had continued for more than 15 days, and severe difficulty sleeping. She had barely slept for the previous 3 days, so naturally we were very concerned and wanted immediate medical advice.

She has PCOS and is currently seeing a hormone specialist for it. She has also previously been advised by a gastroenterology doctor that she had fatty liver and other gastrointestinal-related problems. At that time, she also had a major lung-related health problem, so the doctor wanted to address the conditions one by one. Unfortunately, that doctor later retired.

We therefore went to Dr. Asif Akbar Saibal hoping that he would properly review her medical history and current symptoms.

Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. He did not seem interested in listening to her previous medical history or properly discussing her current symptoms. Despite the prolonged fever, constipation, severe sleep problem, and previous history of fatty liver, he simply told her that she had no problem and that she should eat everything.

We explained that she often becomes unwell after eating processed or street food and may develop fever that lasts for several days. We were concerned that there could be an underlying gastrointestinal, liver, or other issue that needed to be evaluated. However, instead of discussing these concerns or explaining whether any tests or follow-up were necessary, he dismissed them.

He then told her that she had “সুচিবাই” and essentially pushed her out of the chamber, saying “Go, go, you don’t have any problem.”

We did not expect him to immediately diagnose a specific disease. We simply expected a doctor to listen to her history, take her symptoms seriously, and provide proper medical guidance.

As a patient, being dismissed in this way was extremely upsetting. This review is based on our personal experience during the consultation. I hope patients with complicated or ongoing health problems are given enough time and attention to explain their symptoms and medical history.
