He holds an MBBS, an MD in Medical Oncology, and an MsPH in Precision Health (USA), and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP, USA). After joining BCS, he further advanced his expertise in the United States, where he was involved in cutting-edge research in the oncology sector. His credentials are further strengthened by a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Chicago, USA, along with specialized training in precision oncology from UChicago Comprehensive Cancer Care and the renowned Tata Memorial Hospital, India.

He is a dedicated specialist in the management of breast, lung, colon, stomach, and liver cancers, with extensive experience in solid tumors. Dr. Islam is highly proficient in designing and administering chemotherapy protocols, including the safe delivery of chemotherapy through chemoport systems. He has significant hands-on experience in chemoport insertion, maintenance, and long-term management, ensuring efficient and patient-friendly treatment delivery.
